The first widely circulated clip was attributed to Eligael Gadlyovich and reportedly uploaded on January 29, 2011. Other clips appeared over the following days. The recordings became the subject of international media coverage and debate over whether they depicted a genuine event or staged visual effects. An Israeli Channel 10 investigation later reported connections among people associated with two of the videos and concluded that the footage was not authentic. The original event and the provenance of every circulating clip should be distinguished from the documented history of the videos themselves.
