Following the broadcast of the principal eclipse footage, additional people reportedly submitted recordings showing a similar bright object. Secondary sources commonly describe approximately 15 to 17 separate recordings, although the exact number, provenance and independence of every recording have not been established through a single primary archive. The multiple-recording claim became an important part of the argument that the object was a physical craft rather than a camera artifact or astronomical object.
