The principal footage associated with the 1991 Mexican eclipse UFO case shows a bright object against the darkened daytime sky during totality. The object appears as a small bright or overexposed shape with an apparent darker lower portion. The recording was subsequently publicized by journalist Jaime Maussan. Later analysis has argued that the object was the planet Venus distorted by the characteristics of contemporary video recording equipment.
