Wayne Elliott

Wayne Elliott

Meteorological Officer

Wayne Elliott was a meteorological officer at RAF Shawbury who reported an unusual aerial observation during the early hours of March 31, 1993. He reported seeing a large object or group of lights approaching the airfield, apparently moving slowly and at times becoming stationary. He described a narrow beam of light sweeping the countryside and reported an unusual low-frequency humming sound. His observation was one of the most significant individual reports in the Cosford UFO investigation. Elliott's name was redacted from the original released RAF report but was subsequently identified in published research and his own later account in the Met Office magazine Mercury.
