A reproduction of the transcript of the final radio exchange between Frederick Valentich and Melbourne Flight Service on October 21, 1978. Valentich asks about known aircraft traffic, describes an unidentified object with bright lights, a green light and a metallic appearance, and later reports rough engine operation. The transcript records his final transmission at 19:12:28 Eastern Standard Time, followed by approximately seventeen seconds of open microphone. It documents what was communicated over the radio but does not independently verify the identity, distance or nature of the object he described.
