Type: UFO Investigation Report
Source: VIMANA, Issue 2, 1970; English translation preserved by the UFO Magazine Archive and associated with the Archives for the Unexplained (AFU)
An early published account of the Imjärvi encounter in Finland. The report describes Aarno Heinonen and Esko Viljo skiing on January 7, 1970, when they observed a bright approaching phenomenon, a low-hovering object surrounded by reddish mist, and a small humanoid figure. The account includes detailed descriptions of the reported object's underside and the figure's clothing and equipment. It is an important source for tracing how the case entered the UFO literature soon after the reported event. As a UFO case report, it records witness claims and investigative interpretations rather than independently proving the presence of an extraordinary craft or entity.
